The cooler weather makes the pest landscape evolve. We stop targeting some of the flying insects like mosquitoes and bees so that we can focus more on the ground attack. Ants, roaches, bed bugs and insects of that nature are all common this time of year and we are preparing to fight them off for you. Here are our main opponents:

Stink Bugs

These pests do not do well in the cooler weather, so late October is when they start making their way inside to seek warmth. They don’t transmit disease or sting, but they certainly stink and can ruin furniture and clothing. They tend to latch onto belongings or clothing to make their way inside, so just check yourself quickly before going inside.

Bed Bugs

Bed Bugs take advantage of the fact that college students tend to be lazy and negligent when it comes to cleanliness. They can hide in heaps of clothing, sheets, or any form of clutter that is fairly common in dorm rooms. Urge your favorite college student to check their mattress, sheets and furniture for the brown, scuffed markings of bed bugs. Do it yourself on visits just to be sure!

Rodents

Mice and Rats can last longer outdoors than insects, but they tend to seek shelter around early November when we start to see Winter weather. They tend to come into your home through the ground level and they look for cracks in the foundation or other small access points. Make sure you have your Pest Control Unlimited professionals set traps this Fall.

Cockroaches

Cockroaches are dangerous because of their ability to spread bacteria that contributes to asthma. These pests tend to be found near pipes and drains because they need a lot of water to survive. Try and keep the area underneath your sink and bathrooms clean!
