The bathroom is a place we associate with cleaning and hygiene– hence the name BATHroom. But would you consider a termite infestation to be hygienic? We didn’t think so. Which is why we want to take the time to tell you some tips to keep them out of your cleaning space»

Poor Ventilation
Your exhaust fan and windows must be used properly to ventilate the bathroom and keep it pest-free. Your exhaust fan should be on DURING your shower and a window should be left open for at least 15 minutes after a washing. A little tip to keep in mind is that heat rises. So instead of opening your bottom window, pull it down from the top to allow steam to escape.

Puddles Caused by Splash Leaks
Termites need water and dampness to survive, and splash leaks cause just that. When you’re showering, make sure your curtain has a splash guard and is pulled all the way shut. Any leftover water that pools up could seep into the floor and cause deep-rooted damage. Termites love the water that seeps beneath the floor.

Humidity
Regardless of how good your ventilation is, there is always going to be some leftover humidity in the bathroom walls. You can only do your best, and that is why it’s important to sign up for a quarterly program so we can thoroughly inspect these areas. The best time to stop a termite problem is BEFORE it happens.
