Homemade Flypaper Strips

Supplies:

  • ½ Cup Corn Syrup
  • ¼ Cup Sugar
  • Thin Index Cards
  • Scissors
  • Thread

Step-by-Step:

  • Cut 2 inch wide strips and poke a hole at the top.
  • Thread the string through the hole and make a loop so you can hang it.
  • Mix your corn syrup and sugar in a small bowl.
  • Coat ONE side of all of your strips with the mixture. If the syrup starts to drip, just place a bowl under the area where it is dripping.
  • Hang the strips in areas of high fly volume.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Supplies:

  • ½ Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Glass Jar
  • Funnel or Paper Funnel

Step-by-Step:

  • Heat your Apple Cider Vinegar in the microwave.
  • Poke some holes in the lid of your jar that are wide enough for the flies to get inside of.
  • Use your funnel to fill the holes with the now hot Apple Cider Vinegar.
  • Place the jar in an area of high fly volume.

Lavender Oil

Supplies:

  • 1 Cup Lavender Oil
  • Can with Lid
  • Cloth or Sponge

Step-by-Step

  • Start by dipping your cloth or sponge in the lavender oil.
  • Place your cloth or sponge in the tin can and place the lid on it.
  • After 24 hours passes, remove the lid and place it where you are seeing flies.
  • Replace the oil every 8-10 hours after the initial night.
