Cockroaches are most commonly found in the bathroom and kitchen because of the access to food and water. They are living, breathing organisms that need these things to survive and we use their hunger to take advantage of them. Here is what you should do if you see a roach near one of your drains:

Why Are They There?

Roaches operate under a pack mentality and where there is one, there are often more. They love the sink drain because they are a great source of food and water. They can pick on your scraps and stay out of sight while they reproduce and grow their colony. If you happen to see a single roach climbing out of the drain, don’t make the mistake of thinking your problems are over.

Purchase a New Shower Drain Cover

Roaches love the shower drain as well for a source of hydration. You can easily prevent them from coming up into your shower by purchasing a drain cover with fine holes that won’t allow a roach to pass through. They’ll eventually run out of food if they can’t escape into your shower and they will die before having a chance to grow their colony.
